I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling (TEDS - Deerfield).
Fun facts about me:
I grew up in Singapore (Southeast Asia), and English is my first language (I speak very basic Chinese and Korean too).
I’m a wife, a mom to two amazing boys, and a proud dog mom to Kyrie (yes, named after Kyrie Irving — see images below; you’re welcome).
I live to eat. Thankfully, I also enjoy running and GTX classes, which helps balance things out (and keeps me sane).
I appreciate dry humor and love a good pun — this does not mean I can come up with them quickly (might want to lower your expectations).
I genuinely enjoy listening to people’s stories and celebrating their growth! Clients have even called me their personal cheerleader.
I was a certified Illinois Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP). I am currently working toward certification as a Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP — because who doesn’t love more studying?).
I did my Masters at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS - Deerfield), Graduate Certificate at Moody Bible Institute (MTS - Chicago), and my Bachelors at Cardiff Metropolitan University (Singapore/Wales).
Inspiration & Mission
When establishing my private practice, I chose the name “Align Life Therapy” because I believe that when we live in alignment with our values and beliefs, we become more grounded and anchored. While we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can control how we respond. With the right tools and a renewed mindset, we can make intentional decisions that bring us closer to the person we aspire to be and enable us to use our gifts to contribute meaningfully to the world.
As of 2025, my mission is to counsel and mentor children, teens, and adults in developing self-worth and identity. I strive to help individuals cultivate a sense of connection, unity, and alignment within themselves and in their relationships, fostering deeper and more meaningful connections in life.
